Fit it yourself

From inside the car, one window at a time

A few minutes, no tools.

Find the right window

Front door shades are the short pieces, rear door shades the long ones. Hold each to the glass first.

Seat the bottom edge

Line the bottom edge of the shade up with the lower window frame.

Push the top into the frame

The magnets attach to the upper frame. Check the edges sit snug all round.

Loose? Add the clips

Stick the plastic clips to the lower frame with their double-sided tape and wait 24 hours before sliding the shade in.

Daily use and care

  • On the front doors, do not lower the glass all the way: leave some glass to hold the shade in case an arm knocks it.
  • Hard to see at night or in low light? Take the rear shades off straight away.
  • Wipe dust off with a damp cloth and let it dry fully before refitting.
  • No machine washing, no strong chemicals, do not soak the whole shade: the frame is steel.

Frequently asked

Can I still open and close the windows?

Yes. On the front doors we suggest not lowering the glass all the way, so some glass is left to hold the shade if an arm knocks it.

Why do the driver and passenger shades not cover the whole window?

On purpose, for safety: you can see the side mirror, and take a parking ticket or pay a toll.

Can I see out of the rear shades while driving?

Yes, the mesh is see-through. If you have trouble seeing in low light or at night, take them off and use them when the sun is strong.

How much UV do they block?

In a UV meter test the shades reflected close to 70% of UV rays on the covered area.

Do they keep all mosquitoes out?

Most insects, not all. Curved window corners leave small gaps, and on some models the gaps are larger.

My windows are tinted. Do I still need shades?

It depends how you use the car. Tint is like sunscreen and a shade is like a hat. If it is still hot or bright with tint, shades add to it, and they come off when you do not need them.

Can I use shades made for a similar-sized car?

No. The magnets are in the frame edge and must sit tight against the window frame of that model to hold.

How do I clean them?

Wipe the fabric with a damp cloth and let it dry. Do not wash or soak the whole shade, the frame is steel even though it is rust-treated.

What is the warranty?

24 months. Exchange within 30 days for a manufacturing defect, and a full refund if what you receive is not as described.
